| Athenaeum: Great Central Location by Sonique|

|We stayed at the Athenaeum in August 2004. This is a traditional London hotel where you are met from your taxi by the hotel doorman, who helps you out of the taxi, and sees you through to reception. |
The rooms are somewhat on the small side, but are every bit 5 star luxury. The hotel doesn't have an actual bar, but instead has a traditional lounge, where you can sit, and have drinks served to you. The ladies toilets on the first floor are to die for. Visit, and you'll see what I mean.
The hotel is a short stroll away from the main areas of London. It takes around 10-15 minutes walk to get to the heart of London, which meant that we didn't need to get a taxi in the evenings.
I would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to stay in a traditional London hotel, with the luxury of not staying in a 'chained' hotel. This is an individual and exclusive hotel, and is definitely a treat to stay in.
