Surrounding Area
Located within the district of Joo Chiat, this area is famed for its Malay quarter and the Straits born Chinese, known as the Peranakan. The combination of the two cultures have produced a unique culture and cuisine all of which can be found in this area of Singapore. Walking along the streets here will produce many interesting surprises in terms of architecture and restaurants that is reminiscent of the town of Malacca in Malaysia.
Room Types
Room are large for a superior tourist class hotel and look out either on the street inward towards the pool. Bathrooms are done in beige marble with shower in bath. Smoking and non smoking rooms are separated into two wings so that there is no chance of cigarette odour. As with the rest of the hotel very understated, but definitely good value for money.
Dining Facilities
There are no restaurants but breakfast is served at the poolside cafe which is nice and shady with wooden deck furniture.
Property Information
The building is a low rise mauve coloured modern style building that is not outstanding in design. It blends well into the more modern buildings surrounding it and one is hard pressed to tell that it is a hotel. But tucked off the side street of Onan Road is the entrance which is quiet and peaceful.
General
Located in a very interesting area of Singapore yet the city is accessible by train 15 minutes away. It is also 15 minutes to the airport which makes it a possible choice for stopovers. The hotel represents very good value for money accomodation.
