The hotel is located near the centre of the small village of Hohenschwangau. It is ideally positioned at the end of the romantic strasse, close to the Alpsee lake and it benefits from both excellent views of Hohenschwangau and Neuschwanstein castles and easy access for those wishing to visit them on foot or by pony and trap.

The rooms in main Schloss Lisl building are large on average and perhaps dated rather than traditional in their style of furnishings, whilst the rooms in the Jaegerhaus are really beautiful, deluxe standard. The rooms and bathrooms in the main building are in good condition, whilst those in the Jaegerhaus are exceptional.
